In a desperate search to help her son who was born with a rare heart anomaly, who was then left neurologically impaired after a surgery, Hoagland stumbled upon a small dolphin facility in Key Largo. Learn how Joe formed a friendship with a dolphin named Fonzie that ultimately led to his recovery and the formal creation of a not-for-profit organization providing hope, empowerment, and courage to many.

Free for members.

The Florida Keys History and Discovery Foundation is excited to announce plans for the fifth annual signature event, A Havana Night at the Museum, with title sponsor, Islamorada Brewery & Distillery. The event is Saturday, Nov. 13, 6 p.m., at Keys History & Discovery Center and outside on the Islander Resort Conference Center’s Tarpon Terrace, MM 82. Gather your friends to hit the casino tables, enjoy a game of dominoes and toast with a specialty cocktail. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, an elegant dinner with dessert, as well as opportunities to bid on trips, jewelry, personal indulgences and more, in the live and online auctions.
