Flamingo Forever: The Rebirth of a Cherished Everglades National Park Destination

January 12, 2022 @ 7:00 pm

with Charlie Arazoza, The Alliance of Florida’s National Parks, and Alan Scott, Everglades National Park

Attend in person or participate virtually!

In 2005, Mother Nature struck the Flamingo visitor complex an incapacitating blow, but this spring, a new Flamingo will be unveiled to the world in celebration of Everglades National Park’s upcoming 75th anniversary.  The reimagined, rebuilt visitor center is just the beginning for Flamingo —bringing meaning to this special place in our history, in our landscape, and in our legacy we leave for future generations.

This presentation takes a historic look at what Flamingo has been in the past, the challenges it has faced against Mother Nature, and what we can look forward to in the future.

Free for members.
Non-members: In-person, $10; Virtual only, $5.
