The Great Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 Photos On Sale Closed Bidding Lasts through Nov. 9
Islamorada, FL – There are more than 80 black-and-white images to explore during the exhibit of The Great Labor Day Hurricane of 1935, and visitors also can select ones to take home – for the highest bid.
All photos on display are available for purchase through a closed bid. Bid Sheets are available at the reception desk. Minimum bid for each is $25. All bids are closed and will be revealed after the exhibit’s final day Sunday, Nov. 9. Those with the highest bids will be contacted and have until Friday, Nov. 14 to purchase the photo. If not purchased, the next highest bidders will be contacted.
The Great Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 is a photographic collection of the destruction caused by the strongest hurricane to ever hit land in North America is on display at the Keys History & Discovery Center in Islamorada. The exhibit features more than 80 black and white images that not only capture the Upper Keys before the storm, but also the extraordinary aftermath.
Keys History & Discovery Center is in Islamorada, MM 82, on the property of the Islander Resort. The exhibit is open Thursdays through Sundays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. General admission is $12. Admission for seniors is $10 and children 13-under are free.
